What prompted this watermark?  This:

"Event participants may prohibit Photographer from using their identifiable image or likeness for commercial purposes by submitting a request, in writing, to WFTDA. “Commercial purpose” is defined as use that is directly or indirectly for financial gain. Prior to the Event, WFTDA will provide Photographer with a list of those event participants (including name, team, jersey colors, and number) who will not allow their identifiable image or likeness to be used by Photographer, or any party other than WFTDA, for commercial purposes. Photographer is prohibited from the commercial use of the identifiable image or likeness of event participants appearing on this list. Failure to adhere to this provision will result in the immediate revocation of Photographer’s credentials and a ban on Photographer’s future participation in WFTDA-sponsored events."

Now, at this point I can no longer find this content on the WFTDA website. 

Does that mean it no longer applies?  I am not certain but I am not taking chances.

So these pictures cannot be distributed because of the vague language above.

Regardless, I remain committed to my perspective that skaters, their league, and their family (however they wish to define such) will be welcome to access digital images for no cost.  If you want to pay, terrific; it can help offset the approximately 9,000.00 I spent last year (2014) in travel expenses.  If not, then you will want to use one of the following discount codes for digital downloads only - i cannot discount any print orders.

League - 100% discount is for skaters and their leagues on pictures depicting them

FriFam - Friends & Family of the skaters depicted in the images - 100% discount

karma - this is the "pay it forward" option where in lieu of payment you donate money to either a junior derby league, or to any of the dog based charities - Fences for Fido, No-Kill Shelters,  Breed Rescue groups, etc.  

Every other use where someone makes money, it is only fair that I am compensated.  This includes (but isn't limited to): 

• "images for sponsorship" where vendors ask the skaters to deliver images for use; they can play whatever word games they want - this is marketing and a photog deserves to be compensated
• Derivative Art - you want to make a sticker / tshirt / calendar / etc and sell it
• editorial use - if the media outlet can pay for words, it can pay for pictures
• pure marketing - your product is in the picture of awesomeness and you want to showcase it

• Whippet Madness was my work around photographing sight hounds (and other dogs) at confirmation, agility, and lure competitions.  
• Masonite Burn is associated with all things roller derby that I photography.

These sites aren't cheap and I did not want to manage 2 different sites. So instead, I decided with a new site, and a new name - Hooked f Photography.  

I am going to spend time as I can learning how to use the site.  I will still be using FLICKR and Facebook for watermarked images of internet resolution quality images  - here is where you will find them higher resolution, and without watermarks.

p.s. The "Hooked f" is the kind of f that is used when describing apertures.
